TITLE: General Maintenance Assistant APPROVED 01/27/25 QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school graduate or equivalent required. 2. Vocational, technical training, or associates degree, or five years experience in maintenance of buildings and facilities, required. 3. Must have experience and knowledge in maintenance skills in the following areas: 4. Basic carpentry construction and repair 5. Basic mechanical equipment repair and basic electric repairs 6. Basic plumbing repair 7. Building maintenance and masonry repair 8. Grounds care and material moving 9. Able to climb ladders, use scaffolding, aerial lifts, scissor lifts, etc. 10. Valid PA drivers license with approved clearance from MTSD vehicle insurance carrier. 11. Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager JOB GOAL: Provide a safe, comfortable environment that is conducive to teaching and learning. Strive to keep all Millcreek school buildings and grounds in the best condition possible in the most cost-effective way, while maintaining operational compliance with laws, regulations, and Board policies. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform under direction all types of maintenance work including electrical, plumbing, roofing, masonry, carpentry, lawn care, material moving, swimming pool maintenance, and HVAC maintenance. Move furniture, school supplies, and equipment to include disassembly and assembling. Drive pickup trucks, vans, tractors, lawn mowers, snow removal equipment, and any other vehicles required to perform assigned task. Take proper care of all tools, equipment, and vehicles provided by the school district. Ensure compliance with OSHA, DCNR, DEP requirements, State and Local Codes, and safety standards. Start corrections and report discrepancies to Maintenance leadership. Keep records of materials, measurements, and time on each job for future references. Possess proficiency with hand and power tools. Follow written and verbal directions. Show a demonstrated interest in continued development of skills in maintenance and care of District properties. Collaborate with coworkers and follow directions of maintenance leadership or job leader. Assist in snow removal of the school district properties. Willing to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required by the District. Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or their designee. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to sit, talk, and hear. Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and move quickly when necessary to promote student learning and/or safety. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
