In this role you will manage an accounting staff, prepare and analyze journal entries, perform month and year-end closings, prepare and review general ledger reconciliations and support warehouse branches. This role reports to the Assistant Controller and will provide support to Accounting/Finance team management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Accounting or at least 5-10 years' experience in finance

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the General Ledger department
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Perform month/year-end financial analysis of actual results against budget/forecast and have an understanding of business conditions to ensure financial statements are reported in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Complete complex balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis
  • Summarize financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements
  • Coordinates more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
  • Demonstrate an understanding of various accounting processes and identify root causes/areas for improvement
  • Research technical accounting issues and be able to work with management on solutions
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
