Overview The General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for general accounting functions for select companies within our organization. Candidates will work with and assist the accounting team. This position will also cross-train in all aspects of accounts receivable and accounts payable. Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, amortization, and depreciation Provides monthly review and reconciliation of general ledger balance sheet accounts. Perform monthly bank reconciliations Perform month/year-end closing tasks Audit Support for annual third-party audit Proficiency as backup for accounts receivable and accounts payable Identify and implement improvements in financial processes Proficiency using Docuware invoice storage system Provide consolidated information and reporting for all sites as requested. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and the Atlas ERP system. Preferred Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance A minimum of three years experience, aerospace manufacturing preferred. ERP experience (Microsoft AX a plus). Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities: Action oriented and seizes opportunities Strong understanding of GAAP Strong ability in managing and processing large quantities of data Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Microsoft Excel - intermediate proficient – V-Lookups & H-Lookups a plus Proactive and customer focused Build and maintain constructive relationships Efficient in communicating both orally and in writing with all levels of staff Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
