The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for maintaining assigned general ledger accounts and examining processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency in both day-to-day activities and monthly reporting. The General Ledger Accountant works closely with the accounting and finance team as well as various areas of the organization to ensure the company’s accounting records are timely and accurately recorded.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related degree (REQUIRED)
  • 2+ years of experience in Accounting field. Public accounting experience a plus.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to details; able to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a high transaction volume environment efficiently and effectively.
  • Willingness to work occasional nights and/or weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Good working knowledge of GAAP and multi-company/state financial reporting
  • Experience in healthcare industry accounting a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the month-end close process in a timely and accurate manner. This includes, but is not limited to, preparation of journal entries, general ledger account analysis, and reviewing assigned location P&L's.
  • Reconciles assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Prepares, files, and oversees annual personal property tax renditions.
  • Examines current processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency. Develops processes and procedures that support best accounting practices.
  • Assists with various reporting needs and accounting analysis requests from management.
