The General Ledger Accountant I reports to the Co-Director of Finance, supports our philanthropic efforts and is responsible for: Receiving all checks, prepping checks for deposit - determining “coding” and deposit destination Processing of pledges Entering donations and generating acknowledgement letters in Salesforce for donations received at Kintura Management Services Office. These would include: IRA/QCDs/Donor Advised Funds/Appreciated Securities/Grants from Foundations – all Kintura orgs and Foundations Specific donations for multiple Kintura services Entering all employee deduction donations quarterly and acknowledging all at the end of year. Investigating mystery gifts Updating Salesforce database for new donors, changes in donor record Mailing donation letters Providing seasonal support for peak periods in Philanthropy Supporting for capital campaign gift processing Creating check requests for QCDs between Brightspire operating checking account and Foundation Uploading support for gifts into Salesforce Tracking of temporarily restricted activity Recording transactions on general ledger Attending bi-annual Salesforce training (possible eventually lead the training) About Kintura Resulting from the merger of Brightspire and The Well-Spring Group in 2024, Kintura is a not-for-profit leader in senior services. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred (or comparable experience, 5 plus years accounting)
  • Research, analytical, and mathematical skills
  • Courteous and patient demeanor
  • Ability to take initiative and be detailed oriented
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Flexibility and able to handle a fast pace
  • Great communication and computer skills (including Excel)

Responsibilities

  • Receiving all checks, prepping checks for deposit - determining “coding” and deposit destination
