About The Position

There are many departments within our facility that require a general laborer. This job description gives an overview of the tasks that could be performed in any of those departments. All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer. Perform duties to assemble and install basic accessories and hardware on chassis and aerial devices. Prepare, debur and assemble parts to be used on final products. Perform duties to install and assemble a range of basic electrical components. Perform duties to assemble and install basic mechanical and hydraulic components on aerial devices. Must be able to use hand and power tools. Work from schedules, manuals, wiring diagrams, shop orders, prints, pick lists, BOM’s, photos, and instructions; will become familiar with schematics. Prep parts for paint department. Identify and understand basic electrical and mechanical components that are commonly used in assembly. Must be able to ensure manufacturing, quality and safety requirements are met. Review shop orders and similar materials to determine requirements. Retrieve parts, materials, and supplies from staging location. Operate overhead crane and forklift as directed. Willing to assist teammates across departments as needed. Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Knowledge of machines and tools
  • Knowledge of raw materials and techniques for maximizing the manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Controlling operations of equipment and systems.
  • Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Inspecting and evaluating the quality of products
  • Using mathematics to solve problems.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.
  • Read blueprints.
  • Possess basic math knowledge.
  • Read tape measure.
  • Possess a satisfactory safety record and be aware of others safety, including own
  • Reliable, responsible, dependable
  • Confer with supervisors to plan and review daily work activities.
  • Attention to details
  • Standing approximately 60% of the time
  • Crouch/Squatting approximately 20% of the time
  • Sitting approximately 15% of the time
  • Lying on crawler doing overhead work 5% of the time.
  • Regularly lift/move 10 pounds, frequently lift/move 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds.
  • Regularly walk, sit, stand, bend, twist, reach and look upwards
  • Must be able to climb onto trucks/ladders and perform work
  • Work in shop environment of dust and loudness
  • Work in hot and cold extreme weather at times
  • Mandatory overtime when notified – early hours/late hours
  • Adhere to all company policies.
  • Forklift certification
  • Overhead crane certification
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
