About The Position

FWI is building a team to provide administrative and clerical support to the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) at the Military & Family Readiness Center, Nellis Air Force Base. As a General Clerk, you will serve as the primary point of contact for service members and their families, delivering customer service, managing program enrollment, and performing day-to-day administrative operations to ensure the smooth delivery of transition assistance services. Position is contingent upon contract award Work Schedule and Location: On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm at Nellis Air Force Base, NV

Requirements

  • High school diploma (minimum)
  • Two (2) years of office work experience in a government or commercial setting
  • Excellent customer service skills and a professional, positive attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Knowledge of word processing functions to produce letters, reports, memos, and forms
  • Ability to learn and operate the AFFIRST system and adhere to Air Force standards in Office Automation
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting military or government programs
  • Familiarity with the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) or Military & Family Readiness operations
  • Experience with Air Force administrative systems

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers visiting or calling the M&FRC; greet visitors, answer questions, and direct inquiries to appropriate staff members
  • Conduct initial interviews and screenings to determine customers' administrative and transition needs and goals
  • Advise customers on eligibility and enroll military and civilian personnel in TAP workshops using the AFFIRST system
  • Input, update, and maintain customer data in AFFIRST, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Schedule appointments with counselors and staff; manage workshop calendars and send reminders
  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute official correspondence, letters, emails, memos, reports, and forms; respond to all correspondence within 48 hours
  • Produce meeting agendas, weekly staff meeting minutes, inventories, and reports (including Vow reports)
  • Maintain publicity materials and required TAP forms
  • Assist with reserving, opening, and securing classrooms and conference rooms
  • Perform general clerical duties including mail collection, sorting, distribution, filing, photocopying, collating, and document assembly
  • Complete all required training to access necessary systems and perform TAP administrative duties
  • Safeguard all government property and secure facilities, property, and materials at the close of each work period
