About The Position

The Rail Support Activity (RSA) General Clerk III performs tasks under the RSA Lead / ITDSA Supervisor such as maintaining records, preparing correspondence and generating reports for appropriate agencies. Personnel will assist with the staging of military equipment in the rail yard when needed. Perform other duties as required that may involve working overtime, weekends, flexible hours and holidays. Attends the daily Rail Conference Call with SDDC as needed.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of documented experience in general office operations.
  • One (1) year of documented experience in the Transportation field.
  • Knowledge of DOD Regulation 4500.9-R Department of Defense Regulation.
  • Ability to resolve issues and recommend actions to improve delivery of services to the customers.
  • Knowledge of policies, processes, and systems pertaining to Transportation Services.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project and SharePoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, perform with a high degree of accuracy and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.
  • An independent decision-maker when providing technical guidance and determining the order of operation during all rail missions.
  • CAC required.
  • Valid State and GSA Driver's License.
  • High School/GED Diploma.
  • Perform other duties as required that may involve working overtime, weekends, flexible hours and holidays.
  • Perform work in conditions of inclement weather, extreme heat and cold, high/low humidity, blowing sand and dust, working in confined spaces and at heights while standing for long periods of time.
  • The ability to read English language sufficiently to understand written work orders and instructions.
  • Able to move throughout assigned areas, as the work is performed primarily out-of-doors, year-round on uneven ground and grave with prolonged walking or standing, frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching on a daily basis.
  • Ability to climb on and under vehicles and rail cars; may only be accessible by climbing ladders to a height of 20 feet.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine administrative task in support of RSA staff.
  • Complete and submit daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Operates office equipment, processes automated forms for completion.
  • Oversees office equipment and submits work order repairs.
  • Assist during rail loading operations.
