Pay rate : $17.75 + $5.09 H&W (Health and Wellness) per hour Job Summary Responsible for all phases of mail production and distribution within the performance work statement, guidelines, and timeframes of the supervisor or other management personnel. This will include sorting and researching designated mail for mail stops.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Good reading and writing skills.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and accountable mail tracking system.
  • Basic typing skills.
  • Must obtain sensitive but unclassified clearance, also known as public trust.

Responsibilities

  • Sort mail tubs to appropriate mail sorting schemes or mail stops.
  • Bundle mail as required by banding, bagging, or otherwise sorting.
  • Process and prepare all incoming mail for customer pick up as required by the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
  • Perform x-ray scan using an x-ray machine to scan all mail and packages for security of customers if required by contract.
  • Meter mail daily.
  • Transfer mail tubs, as needed, to the mail room from loading docks in the morning and back to loading docks in the afternoon.
  • Consolidate mail, as needed, for IRS posts of duty to be sent at the end of the day.
  • Perform all aspects of job in a safe manner, with concern for others and a desire to increase production.
  • Process machinable mail (folding, inserting, sealing, and opening) as needed.
  • Follow HAZMAT procedures for handling potentially hazardous mail.
  • Process accountable mail utilizing accountable mail tracking system; process unidentifiable accountable mail.
  • Open/read mail and forward to appropriate location when required.
  • Participate in all training required by funding source(s).
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
