About The Position

Orientation and Training Services (OTS) within University College is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Graduate Assistant and to support the services, function, and mission of OTS and University College, which includes Preview (freshman summer orientation) and Transfer Registration and Orientation Day (fall/spring orientations for transfer students). Graduate Assistants will also gain professional experience in higher education.

Requirements

• Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook
• Must be a degree-seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in College Student Personnel Administration
• Demonstration of excellent written and oral communication skills
• Well-developed organizational skills
• Sensitivity to relevant needs of first-year and transfer students
• Familiarity with first-year experience programs and issues
• Strong teamwork ethic
• Creativity, ingenuity, initiative, and positive attitude
• Commitment to promoting diversity and student development
