The 2026 National Academy Foundation Future Ready Lab (NAF FRL) Internship Program, powered by Pratt & Whitney, is a unique paid six-week opportunity for students from NAF Academies in the West Palm Beach, FL area, starting in June 2026. Interns will participate in skill-building workshops, gain hands-on experience in a professional setting, and collaborate with team members and mentors on a business project. Projects will focus on Technology and Innovation, contributing to Pratt & Whitney’s growth through innovation, technology development, and continuous improvement. Interns will apply new expertise from workshops to their projects and will conclude the internship by preparing and delivering a professional presentation of their insights and skills to company executives and industry leaders. This specific position will support F135 High Pressure Compressor military hardware preparation for the 2026 Analytical Comprehensive Inspection (ACI).

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled at Forest Hill Community High School
  • Rising seniors (summer between 11th & 12th grade)
  • Minimum of a 2.5 GPA
  • Commitment to all dates and times of the internship
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

  • Support F135 High Pressure Compressor military hardware Preparation for the 2026 Analytical Comprehensive Inspection (ACI)
  • Leverage data from previous tasks and Quality Notifications (QNs) to determine additional inspection needs outside of Engine Manual inspections
  • Document additional inspection needs
  • Learn about engine cross-sections highlighting rotors, cases, and variable vane hardware
  • Participate in various internal and customer meetings and work with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Learn about creating schedules, running meetings, creating technical presentations, and learn the importance of communication.
