About The Position

The Development Coordinator works alongside a dynamic development team and is responsible for supporting the implementation of our Walk to End Alzheimer's event. The territories for this role include Marquette and the Upper Peninsula.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • One year of office administrative experience
  • Ability to recruit and manage large numbers of volunteers at different levels of expertise with diplomacy.
  • Effective written communication skills, include English usage, grammar, and spelling. Ability to compose general business correspondence and review own work for accuracy.
  • Work history indicating dependability and accuracy with details. Ability to accurately maintain records, prepare reports, and coordinate multiple projects, effective logistical coordination skills.
  • Maintain professional personal demeanor and presence in person and via telephone with internal and external customers
  • Ability to work well on a team is essential
  • Punctuality with an appreciation of the impact of effective coverage to the success of the association
  • Superior self-management skills, as an independent initiative to collaborate with others are essential
  • Deadline-driven, incorporating effective planning and time management strategies that support the collaborative delivery of results
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory by car including working within the territory on a bi-weekly basis, or on occasion more frequently as required by the job. Travel in this case, is considered time spent away from the office, in the community, to fulfill the job goals. While most such travel is the same day, occasional overnight travel or air travel may be required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, access to reliable vehicle, good driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required for the job.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift and transport up to 50lbs of materials.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products and social media; experience with, or ability to rapidly learn, Luminate/Convio software.

Responsibilities

  • Create, review and finalize event materials, action plan with the Development Director.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for Walk to End Alzheimer's projects including updating web pages, web site set-up, gift information, prepare and analyze Walk to End Alzheimer's reports, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Material organization, support and maintain needed inventory and ordering.
  • Order and track and confirm receipt of orders/deliveries of event supplies and collateral.
  • Phone outreach to past participants and donors.
  • Directly interact with donors, including answering development and organization inquiries, sponsorship and team questions.
  • Provide supervision and training to assigned volunteers.
  • Through volunteer networks, prospect, cultivate and steward Walk to End Alzheimer's teams, sponsors, and Relationship event volunteers to achieve development goals.
  • Execute event plan for maximizing team participation and sponsorship opportunities to achieve revenue goals by providing fundraising guidance and support.
  • Recruit and work closely with the volunteer planning committees to assist them with sponsorship, team recruitment, meeting preparations, logistics, marketing, retention, and all wrap-around events.
  • Research potential prospects and networking opportunities to grow Walk pipelines.
  • Engage with the volunteer planning committees to organize outreach activities that promote the Alzheimer's Association mission, including community presentations and corporate engagement opportunities.
  • Actively participate in learning opportunities for professional growth and self- improvement.
  • Maintain an organizational climate that attracts, motivates, supports, and retains high-quality staff and volunteers who are committed to serving individuals and families
  • Ensure Walk to End Alzheimer's standards and best practices are being followed.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned.
