About The Position

Join The Citadel’s Tommy & Victoria Baker School of Business as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor within the Management and Entrepreneurship Department, focusing on organizational behavior, human resources, and strategic leadership. You would join us as an integral member of a well-established team of academic professionals who are committed to educating and developing innovative leaders of principle to serve a global community. This full-time, tenure-track position in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship focuses on teaching and research in organizational behavior, human resources, strategic leadership, and/or related areas of organizational management and leadership. Academic rank will depend upon the relevant qualifications and experience you bring. This appointment is tenure-track. Faculty are reviewed annually and considered for tenure and promotion in accordance with institutional policies and procedures. Credit toward tenure may be granted for prior full-time academic experience, consistent with university guidelines. Additional teaching responsibilities of the position may include, as needed and appropriate, undergraduate and graduate courses on general management topics. This role includes active engagement of students and service to the institution. Employment will begin in August 2026 , or earlier if the selected candidate is available.

Requirements

  • PhD in Management, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources, Leadership or a closely related field, earned from an AACSB-accredited (or equivalent) institution. ABD candidates will be considered.
  • Experience in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses related to your qualifications and experience.
  • Ability to sustain research activities that lead to academic publications consistent with scholarly academic standards for institutional AACSB accreditation.
  • Experience in student engagement and in institutional service appropriate to your academic rank and professional advancement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in organizational behavior, leadership, or human resources especially within programs for organizational design, organizational development, and/or organizational change.
  • Expertise and willingness, as needed, to teach upper-division undergraduate courses in various management and organization topics, particularly strategic management.
  • Experience with or an understanding of military organizations
  • Experience using online learning management systems, particularly Canvas.
  • Experience teaching in an online environment

Responsibilities

  • Use specialized expertise to teach management, human resources, and organizational behavior/leadership across a broad range of organizational contexts and competencies.
  • Teaching load will be 3 courses each semester.
  • Developing courses at the undergraduate or master's level, or a combination of both, engaging students through in-person and online (via Canvas).
  • Teach, as needed by the Department, general and specialized courses in management and organizations at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Engage in research in your academic discipline that meets our AACSB scholarly academic (SA) requirements.
  • Actively engage with students, including in academic advising.
  • Actively engaging in institutional service, program assessments, and professional development appropriate to your faculty role, academic rank, and tenure timeline.
  • Ongoing scholarship and service should also contribute to the advancement of scholarship and professionalism in your field.
  • Play an active role in shaping the undergraduate and MBA program curriculum development as the Department expands and enriches its programs and modes of educational delivery.
