The team delivers high-quality information through activities that include development of essential, building infrastructure capabilities to meet client needs and implementing data standards and governance. The Mod CIA squad is a key engineering team within DTCC’s CDTS 2.0 modernization initiative, a strategic program aimed at transforming legacy mainframe‑based connectivity and data‑exchange systems into modern, resilient, and scalable architecture. The team is responsible for building and maintaining platform components that enable CDTS 2.0 to function as an enterprise‑wide, standardized ingestion and egress solution. As a Software Engineer, you will play a hands‑on role in developing platform features, integrating business applications, and contributing to the implementation of secure and configurable data‑exchange capabilities across the enterprise. Your work supports DTCC’s broader technology transformation by strengthening connectivity pipelines, improving system performance, and helping deliver the next generation of data‑movement services that support DTCC’s critical business operations.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience delivering complex technology products or platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong backend engineering experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka (or other messaging‑driven services)
  • Hands‑on experience with Oracle or similar relational databases
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.)
  • Highly preferred: solid experience with Angular for front‑end development
  • Experience building distributed, event‑driven, or cloud‑native applications
  • Ability to work across the full stack, contributing primarily to backend and messaging‑driven components while supporting UI work as needed

  • Optional / nice to have: experience with React and CSS

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement CDTS 2.0 platform components that modernize and replace legacy mainframe functionality with distributed, cloud‑ready solutions.
  • Build, test, and deploy features that enable standardized ingestion and egress workflows, including Kafka‑based streaming, cloud‑native integrations, and configurable routing logic.
  • Develop reusable, low‑code platform components that enhance scalability, resiliency, and ease of adoption for downstream business applications.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and multi‑functional partners to translate technical requirements into high‑quality, well‑engineered work within the CDTS 2.0 framework.
  • Support integration activities by onboarding business applications to the modernized CDTS 2.0 platform and ensuring seamless connectivity across systems.
  • Fix, debug, and optimize platform components to improve performance, increase fault tolerance, and ensure secure data exchange.
  • Contribute to infrastructure provisioning, environment configuration, and automated deployment workflows used across CDTS 2.0 environments.
  • Adhere to engineering protocols, including code‑quality standards, robust documentation, automated testing, and compliance with architectural guidelines.
  • Stay ahead with emerging technologies and modernization patterns relevant to event‑driven, cloud, and distributed systems, applying them to strengthen platform capabilities.
