About The Position

FMD is a mid-sized certified public accounting (CPA) firm located in Birmingham, MI. We are currently seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper/Paraprofessional to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of assisting our clients with a variety of bookkeeping tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in accounting software.

Requirements

Proficiency in QuickBooks, with a solid understanding of general ledger accounting.
Familiarity with account reconciliation processes and bank reconciliation procedures.
Knowledge of financial concepts relevant to bookkeeping and accounting practices.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accuracy in financial records.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience in working with automotive dealerships strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate records of financial transactions using double entry bookkeeping methods.
Perform account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed.
Utilize accounting software to record transactions, generate reports, and analyze financial data.
Ensure compliance with public accounting standards and internal policies.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
