Job Summary: The Fulfillment Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product fulfillment operations within our hemp packing facility. This role ensures that all customer orders are processed, packed, and shipped with the highest levels of quality, compliance, and efficiency. The Fulfillment Manager will lead a team of associates, implement process improvements, enforce GMP standards, and work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Logistics to meet company goals and customer expectations.

Requirements

  • BS in Business, Engineering, Management, MBA, Supply Chain Management or similar.
  • 2-4 years of work experience.
  • 3+ years of management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing, production, or distribution environment preferred.
  • A strong customer-oriented focus.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.
  • An analytical mind with strong math skills.
  • A Self-starter that doesn’t wait to be told what to do.

  • Experienced in ERP systems and specifically warehouse management or other inventory control software systems.
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds and regularly move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain a stationary sitting or standing position for up to eight hours a day based on business needs and sales volume.
  • Frequent movements include walking, standing, reaching, bending/stooping, turning, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active activities.
  • Temperatures can vary between 60 degrees and 90 degrees in some parts of the warehouse; on hot days, temperatures can be over 90 degrees.
  • Normal noise levels.
  • Exposed to moving mechanical equipment.
  • Exposed to natural chemical fumes, herbal aromas, airborne particles, exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily fulfillment operations, including order picking, packing, labeling, and product releases to the warehouse.
  • Monitor throughput, WIP, and finished goods inventory to ensure orders are fulfilled on time and in full (OTIF).
  • Clearly communicate policies to team members and act as the primary information source for the team.
  • Analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Ensure compliance and consistency throughout the department is maintained, and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Follow the VP’s instructions of daily tasks.
  • Direct daily activities to meet efficiency and profit goals.
  • Track inventory levels to prevent stock-outs and/or deadstock.
  • Prevent inventory shrinkage, accidents, and occupational hazards.
  • Allocate resources and collaborate to find solutions that resolve conflicting priorities.
  • Manage a dynamic team of collaborators, to include a department lead.
  • Collaborate with the QC/QA team to maintain high product standards throughout the fulfillment process.
  • Oversee daily order fulfillment activities, including order processing, picking, packing, and shipping preparation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and resolve any issues related to order fulfillment or logistics.
  • Foster a culture of safety and efficiency within the warehouse team, promoting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the end-to-end logistics process, including inbound and outbound shipments, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned.
  • Lead by example in promoting a culture of accuracy, compliance, and professionalism.
  • Provide data-backed and actionable updates to Senior Leadership to improve order fulfillment and vendor performance.
  • Partnering with the Senior Leadership team to establish and maintain quality control standards while ensuring all issues are escalated appropriately, along with recommendation and/or resolution status.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to meet operational goals.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve warehouse efficiency, reduce shipping errors, and increase order processing speed.
  • Work closely with other departments to streamline fulfillment and quality processes, enhancing overall efficiency.
  • Report weekly on multiple fulfillment and performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Track key KPIs for fulfillment and compliance, including order accuracy, shipping times, and quality metrics.
  • Collaborate with the inventory team to manage stock levels, ensuring accuracy and optimal warehouse space utilization.
  • Oversee regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Ensure quality standards are met.
  • Address any quality issues or defects by coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Conduct regular inspections of products and processes to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal regulations, particularly industry and best practices in California.
  • Establish and enforce procedures to maintain compliance in all inventory-related activities.
