About The Position

The Fulfillment Lead is responsible for providing front-line people support and operational direction for daily warehouse activities within a freezer environment. This role includes line and task assignment, scheduling, operational guidance, training, coaching, and development of associates. The Freezer Lead serves as a champion of change by identifying and helping implement process improvements to drive efficiency, productivity, and employee safety. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work in refrigerated and freezer conditions while supporting warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience required
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience working in refrigerated or freezer environments preferred
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred (SAP, Oracle, BAAN, or similar)
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to obtain equipment certification as required
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and peak season schedules as needed
  • Must be able to work in cold storage environments ranging from -10°F to 40°F
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds continuously and 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to safely use ladders
  • Ability to climb stairs repeatedly during shift
  • Ability to walk and stand for 8–10 hours
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb as needed

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of approximately 10–25 employees including Freezer Warehouse Drivers, Freezer Pickers, and Material Handlers
  • Spend significant time working in refrigerated and freezer environments while supporting associates
  • Identify and resolve issues related to conveyors, materials flow, and operational challenges
  • Provide feedback on new hire and refresher training to ensure employees meet performance standards
  • Communicate effectively and motivate associates to meet business needs
  • Coordinate day-to-day workflow, training, and troubleshooting in a multi-temperature warehouse environment
  • Use WMS and operational reports to track productivity and ensure goals and deadlines are met
  • Provide constructive and timely performance feedback to associates
  • Conduct start-up meetings and provide coverage for Supervisor when needed
  • Assist with updating and documenting process changes and training plans
  • Foster a respectful team environment to positively impact retention
  • Perform lead duties across multiple departments as needed
  • Work in production roles during non-peak periods, including supporting production or assisting other areas as needed
  • Adhere to attendance, safety, security, and SQF requirements
  • Work overtime during peak seasons or high-volume periods
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility that is tour-ready at all times
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and team development
  • Support company guidelines and code of conduct
  • Perform other duties and work in other departments as assigned
