About The Position

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. (ESS) is a 100% employee-owned multi-faceted contractor specializing in complex heavy civil projects. The company's expertise includes grading, excavation, underground utilities, bridge construction, asphalt paving, concrete paving, and pavement preservation. The Fuel & Lube Assistant will be an integral part of the team, responsible for assisting with fueling, greasing, and basic fluid services on heavy construction equipment. This role involves supporting equipment inspections, maintaining inventory of oils, filters, and lubricants on the service truck, and ensuring equipment and service areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations. The assistant will also be required to follow established safety procedures, complete basic service documentation, and travel to job sites to assist with daily fueling schedules.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work in outdoor conditions
• Willingness to travel and work early mornings or extended hours
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and MVR check

Nice To Haves

• Experience working around heavy equipment or in a construction environment
• Mechanical aptitude or prior shop/fleet support experience
• Interest in growing into a technician or CDL fuel truck operator role

Responsibilities

• Assist with fueling, greasing, and basic fluid services on heavy construction equipment
• Support equipment inspections and report any visible leaks or service concerns
• Help maintain inventory of oils, filters, and lubricants on the service truck
• Keep equipment and service areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations
• Follow established safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times
• Complete and submit basic service documentation as required
• Travel to job sites as directed and assist with daily fueling schedules
