Position Overview: The FTZ Coordinator position is responsible for ensuring compliance with and control over government rules and regulations, which includes all Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) compliance, customs audits and FTZ recordkeeping requirements. The Logistics Compliance Specialist administers DMA's import and export policies and standard operating procedures in accordance with FTZ and Customs and Border Patrol regulations in a warehouse environment.

Requirements

  • Responsible for FTZ inventory control by verifying inventory transactions; process and related data are complete and accurate.
  • Request or compile necessary import documentation, such as customs invoices, certificates of origin, and cargo-control documents.
  • Track and manage receipts by monitoring inbound shipments; prepare in-transit entries and/ or permit-to-transfers as required.
  • Prepare, maintain, and record all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual FTZ forms and reports ensuring that they are timely, complete and accurate.
  • Work closely with the distribution centers to ensure inventory transactions are recorded accurately and resolve issues in accordance to established FTZ policies and procedures.
  • Advise others on import and export restrictions, FTZ requirements, quotas, or other Customs-related matters.
  • Confer with distribution centers, shippers, and officials of various agencies to facilitate clearance of goods through customs and quarantine.
  • Monitor or trace the location of goods.
  • Analyze, verify, and make corrections as necessary the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to inventory transactions.
  • Arrange for transportation, warehousing, or product distribution of imported or exported products.
  • Maintain proper record keeping and management reporting.
  • Associate’s degree in business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or Logistics related fields preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in FTZ operations, import/export compliance, or customs brokerage.
  • Must be able to pass a Federal Background check
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to manage multiple tasks with effective organizational skills and able to establish priorities.
  • Experience performing any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain data for use in maintaining regulatory compliance records.
  • Experience with FTZ software (e.g., PFTZ, QAD, or similar) preferred or general understanding of customs ACE environment.
  • Experience with ERP software (eg,. Netsuite, JD Edwards, SAP, or similar) preferred.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with demanding deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong computer literacy (including MS Office, Adobe, and FTZ entry/admission filing software)
  • Ability to check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.
  • Attention to Detail — Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks within specific timeline rules.
  • Ability to read and write in English. Ability to effectively articulate and present information and respond to questions from Management in a professional manner.
