About The Position

The House Manager oversees the daily operations of an assigned ISL (Individualized Supported Living) home. This leadership role includes supporting residents, coordinating appointments and activities, ensuring compliance with policies, and managing household operations. The House Manager is a vital link between residents, families, staff, and agency leadership. We are primarily searching for a candidate with evening availability, but welcome all candidates to apply.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older, have a High School Diploma or GED, be able to successfully pass a background check, and have a driver's license and reliable transportation with insurance. This position requires the transportation of clients.
  • Level 3 DSP certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to coach and mentor staff in person-centered support.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

Responsibilities

  • Act as advocate and liaison for residents, fostering integration in community activities and independent living.
  • Ensure residents’ medical, medication, and health needs are addressed and documented.
  • Maintain confidentiality while communicating with staff, families, and medical providers.
  • Promote resident health, safety, happiness, and personal growth.
  • Provide in-home staff training, coaching, and role modeling.
  • Serve as the “on call” contact for staff questions, urgent shift coverage, and urgent issues.
  • Conduct new staff orientation and training on ISP plans, medical procedures, adaptive equipment, documentation, and safety protocols.
  • Recommend staff for additional training as needed.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of all required documentation, including ISP data, behavior data, attendance, medication records, financial ledgers, emergency drills, and maintenance logs.
  • Submit all reports on time and address discrepancies promptly.
  • Attend staff, team, management, and consumer-related meetings.
  • Disseminate information to staff and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Manage house meetings and maintain open communication among all team members.
  • Coordinate all aspects of resident financial procedures.
  • Monitor and document expenditures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist residents with budgeting, saving, and financial independence.
  • Oversee household cleanliness, décor, and safety.
  • Conduct and document regular inspections of smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, adaptive equipment, and vehicle condition.
  • Ensure emergency drills are conducted as required.
  • Comply with DMH and CMRO standards during inspections and audits.
