Grecian Delight | Kronos Foods Corp is seeking a Quality Assurance Team Lead for Elk Grove Village, IL. The Team Lead will oversee, support food safety & quality systems in the USDA-FDA dual jurisdiction processing facility. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal standards, and customer expectations, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and food safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Animal Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of QA experience in USDA-regulated meat processing; FDA experience a strong plus.
- HACCP certification required; PCQI certification preferred.
- Experience with document control systems and audit readiness.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Train production and QA staff on food safety, quality procedures, and regulatory updates.
- Direct QA technicians and provide coaching, scheduling, and collaborate with QA manager for performance feedback.
- Ensure compliance with USDA, FSIS and FDA regulations, including HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs, and HARPC.
- Lead daily QA activities including pre-operational inspections, in-process checks, and finished product evaluations.
- Maintain accurate and timely QA documentation, including batch records, deviation logs, and verification records.
- Participate in internal audits and support third-party audits (SQF, customer audits).
