About The Position

This position is responsible for hiring, training, monitoring, and administering the job duties for QA hourly personnel. This includes monitoring and maintaining Quality Assurance programs to verify that product specifications are met and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Performance of duties will require interaction with operations, HAACP, QA, USDA, operations, sanitation, and management. Triumph Foods only employs individuals who are 18 years of age or older. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of management training/experience and demonstrate ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have basic knowledge of plant operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with USDA, production and management personnel.
  • Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available.

Nice To Haves

  • A four (4) year degree (any field) is preferred.
  • SQF certification is preferred.
  • HACCP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, train, and supervise all plant FSQA hourly staff promoting both individual and team success.
  • Provide necessary technical resources to all department managers, report all quality deviations to appropriate facility personnel.
  • Provide necessary documentation to assure that established standards of quality are met.
  • Communicate with operations management, purchasing and /or raw material suppliers, product quality deviations and supplier audit information.
  • Assist in evaluating, updating and preparing new/current specifications.
  • Investigate all quality complaints, document, and implement both corrective and preventative actions.
  • Utilize SPC (Statistical Process Control) and other statistical tools to improve areas within the FSQA function.
  • Oversee in-house labeling and product weight conformance programs.
  • Prepare for and participate in third party customer audits (SQF, Export, etc.)
  • Aid in R&D projects with quality issues.
  • This position also requires outlining product deficiencies and suggested corrections.
  • Directing and scheduling in-plant quality assurance testing as required on a shift basis.
  • Responsible for leading the collection of data and reporting of that data to the FSQA Manager.
  • Handle scheduling and payroll.
  • Other duties as assigned by FSQA Manager.
