  • High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

  • The primary responsibility of the Cook is to provide the highest quality of service to the customers at all times.
  • Following recipes and production sheets for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments.
  • Operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and weigh ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use.
  • Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, assess production requirements, and requisition supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare baked items, move/lift food supplies, and prepare meals for customers requiring special diets.
  • Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment.
  • Understand and adhere to all safety and food handling requirements of UFHCF, local, state, & federal jurisdictions.
  • Filling in for other positions within the department.
  • Other duties may be assigned by Lead, Supervisor or Manager.
