Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Certification in surgery technology required
• Completion of formal central service technician or surgery technologist program required.
• 2-5 years of central service, surgery, or patient care work experience is required.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• The Sterile Processing Technician, under the direction of the unit charge nurse, collects, cleans, disinfects, inspects and sterilizes surgical instruments and other medical equipment.
• Maintains code carts, chest carts, urology carts.
• Cleans hospital wide equipment as needed.
