About The Position

The Frozen Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the frozen foods department, ensuring consistent product availability, freshness, merchandising standards, and excellent customer service. This role leads department operations, controls inventory and shrink, and develops associates while maintaining compliance with food safety and company standards.

Requirements

  • Previous retail grocery or frozen/food department leadership experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, merchandising, and food safety
  • Proven leadership, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in cold environments and perform physical tasks including lifting and extended standing
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute daily operations to ensure the frozen department is fully stocked, faced, and customer‑ready
  • Manage ordering, receiving, rotation, and inventory control of all frozen products
  • Ensure proper temperature controls, freezer organization, and product handling procedures
  • Maintain attractive displays, end caps, and promotional sets
  • Execute company merchandising plans, seasonal sets, and ad programs
  • Ensure product is labeled, signed, and displayed according to standards
  • Monitor dates, rotation, and damaged product to minimize shrink and waste
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and assist customers with product questions or requests
  • Address and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting department environment
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop frozen department associates
  • Create and manage schedules to meet labor goals and service needs
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, and reinforce accountability
  • Foster teamwork, engagement, and a positive work culture
  • Drive sales through effective merchandising, in‑stocks, and execution
  • Monitor department performance including sales, shrink, and labor efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and department results
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and company policies
  • Enforce proper lifting techniques, equipment use, and workplace safety practices
  • Maintain freezer safety, organization, and cleanliness
