Position Summary: The Front Office Receptionist in Greensboro will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, responsible for efficient and accurate patient registration using medical systems. This role requires verifying patient insurance coverage, managing appointment scheduling, and providing exceptional customer service in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience in a healthcare office setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, in person or via telephone, answering or directing inquiries appropriately.
  • Record patient arrivals accurately in the Practice Management System (EMR).
  • Verify patient identification and create new accounts as necessary.
  • Prepare necessary paperwork prior to patient appointments.
  • Contact patients for “No Show” appointments to reschedule and document accordingly.
  • Schedule appointments to optimize provider time, treatment room usage, and patient satisfaction.
  • Assist patients in distress during emergencies using sound judgment.
  • Maintain and update patient information in the EMR system.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and prior authorization requirements; coordinate with Billing Department as needed.
  • Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Collect patient copays and balances, ensuring maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously.
  • Collaborate professionally with patients, providers, team members, and visitors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager.
