About The Position

We are seeking a Front Office Receptionist for our Charlotte, NC (Springbank) location. This role is essential for providing exceptional patient experience from the first point of contact. As the Front Office Receptionist, you will be responsible for timely and accurate patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and delivering outstanding customer service in adherence to QualDerm's policies and standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum 1 year customer service experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently.
  • Professional, courteous, and compassionate demeanor.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems or practice management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and visitors by greeting them in person or over the phone, responding to inquiries or directing as appropriate.
  • Record patient arrivals in the Practice Management System (EMR) and verify patient identity by name and date of birth.
  • Create new patient accounts as needed and prepare paperwork prior to appointments.
  • Contact patients with missed appointments to reschedule and document appropriately.
  • Schedule appointments efficiently to optimize provider time and patient satisfaction.
  • Assist patients in distress by responding promptly and using sound judgment.
  • Manage updates of patient information accurately within the Practice Management System (EMR).
  • Verify insurance eligibility, financial responsibility, and communicate prior authorization needs to the billing department.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the reception area.
  • Collect copays and balances at check-in and check-out while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, reporting changes as required.
  • Answer telephone calls promptly and professionally.
  • Support team efforts and complete additional duties as assigned by Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager.
