Job Summary: The Front Office Receptionist in Wilson, NC will play a vital role in patient registration and insurance verification using medical systems and facility tools. This role requires adherence to established policies and procedures while delivering exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and other medical professionals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year customer service experience in a healthcare office preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, be detail-oriented, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly in person and via telephone, directing inquiries as needed.
  • Record patient arrivals and maintain accurate records in the Practice Management System (EMR).
  • Verify patient identity and create new accounts when necessary.
  • Prepare patient paperwork prior to appointments and manage rescheduling of no-show appointments.
  • Schedule appointments efficiently to optimize patient satisfaction and provider productivity.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations involving patients in distress.
  • Update and verify patient information and insurance eligibility, notifying Billing as required for prior authorizations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
  • Collect copays and balances, ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
  • Follow established policies and procedures to maintain smooth office operations.
  • Demonstrate superior customer service and professional communication at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager.
