About The Position

Sandy Lane Hotel, an AAA Five Diamond, Forbes Five Star exclusive resort and a member of Leading Hotels of the World, is seeking to recruit a Front Office Receptionist. The Role The Front Office Receptionist will report to Front Office Manager. He/she will be responsible for the efficient operation of the Front of House areas including Resident Services, Cashiering, Concierge and Night Audit. The Successful candidate will be required to: Perform fast and efficient check-ins and check-outs, including responsibility for a cash drawer and auditing of daily postings Perform cashier duties including exchange of foreign currency, processing credit card payments Effectively handle and follow up with guests questions, problems and complaints Promote and inform guests of hotel services Ensure a high level of customer service is consistently maintained Assist the guests with airline, hotels, car rental, tours and restaurant reservations as requested Identify regular, repeat clients meeting their special requests as well as maintains record of the Guest History Program Ensure that all guest registration cards are correctly completed including billing, profiles, departure times and special requests Multitask in a fast pace work environment and meets the hotel’s standards at all times

Requirements

  • An Associate degree or BA in Tourism and Hotel Management or equivalent
  • Two years’ related experience in hotel or service industry
  • Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft office
  • A working knowledge of accounting and Opera property management system
  • Excellent interpersonal, telephone and communication skills
  • A knowledge of Barbados and places of interest
  • The successful candidate must consistently maintain the highest standard of service and operational efficiency within all areas of responsibility.
