About The Position

Stack City BBQ, based in Austin, offers southern BBQ cuisine and is built on community, smoke, and good times. As the company enters a growth phase, it is seeking Part-Time Front of the House Team Members for its Austin site. This role involves being the welcoming face of the brand, guiding guests through the menu, thoughtfully upselling, and creating memorable experiences to encourage repeat visits. The position is for a fast-casual BBQ restaurant, combining genuine hospitality with a sales-driven mindset.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
At least one year of customer-facing experience in fast casual, quick service, or retail sales
Strong communication skills and a natural flair for building rapport
Sales-oriented attitude: comfortable recommending menu items and upselling add-ons
Basic POS or tablet order-entry proficiency
Ability to multitask under pressure while maintaining a warm, composed demeanor
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Food Handler’s Certification or willingness to obtain one

Responsibilities

Warmly greet every guest within 30 seconds of arrival, using the G.U.E.S.T. framework for consistent, authentic service
Guide guests through the menu and share personal favorites
Proactively suggest add-ons and pairings—appetizers, beverages, and desserts—to elevate check averages
Accurately enter orders in the POS system and monitor ticket times to ensure timely service
Check in on guest’s post-service to confirm satisfaction and invite feedback
Maintain a clean, organized dining area: tables, floors, stocking, bathrooms, and the storefront
Process transactions with attention to accuracy
Collaborate with kitchen and management to anticipate busy periods and smooth workflow
