About The Position

Louisiana Bridge Builders (“LBB”) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street. The Front-End Loader Operator I is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by moving and loading materials such as soil, gravel, or debris for the Project.

Requirements

  • Effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change.

  • Ability to operate machinery by moving levers, pushing pedals, and turning valves.
  • At a minimum, the Front-End Loader Operator I must have 2+ years of relevant, proven, experience operating construction equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maneuvering loaders to move dirt, gravel, debris, and other materials on Project site.
  • Load and unload trucks, backfilling excavations, etc.
  • Perform pre-shift equipment inspections.
  • Perform basic routine operator maintenance, lubrication, and fueling of equipment.
  • Coordinate machine actions with crew members using hand or audio signals.
  • Operate machinery to perform tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
