About The Position

At Anne Arundel Dermatology, we prioritize exceptional care for both our patients and our team. Founded over 50 years ago, our mission is to deliver the highest quality and full spectrum of medical, surgical, and esthetic skin care services to each patient. We have grown to include over 250 clinicians and 110+ locations across 7 states. We are currently seeking a Front Desk Receptionist to join the team at one of our Florida practices, Academic Alliance in Dermatology, which has 23 locations throughout Southwest & Central Florida. For over 30 years, Academic Alliance in Dermatology has been providing premier medical and cosmetic dermatology services. We are committed to continuous training and education for our physicians and staff, staying updated on the latest developments in dermatology including ongoing research, emerging treatments, new drugs, and prevention methods. Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of HIPAA standards
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Detail-oriented
  • Working knowledge of multi-line phone system
  • Able to operate standard office equipment (i.e. computer, fax, copier, scanner, etc)
  • Intermediate computer skills and experience in EMR utilization
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to sort and file materials correctly alphabetically or numerically
  • Ability to travel to and provide coverage for other local offices as-needed

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years recent experience as a Medical Receptionist in a clinical or surgical setting
  • Previous experience in Dermatology

Responsibilities

  • Greet each patient in a pleasant and professional manner
  • Screen calls, schedules appointments and referrals
  • Take accurate, concise phone messages
  • Enter complete patient demographics when making appointments
  • Evaluate chart data to verify all information has been received, completed and signed
  • Check-in and check-out patients
  • Track patients in the reception area and communicate with patients as needed
  • Proactively collect patient payments
  • Update product inventory weekly
  • Always treat patients with dignity and empathy
  • Fulfill inventory orders
  • As closer – run end of day reports & balance payment totals
  • Distribute incoming reports and correspondence in patient charts
  • Ensure all phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental mail are addressed immediately
  • Assist other staff as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management
