About The Position

Cristo Rey Orlando High School is seeking a mission-driven Front Desk Reception who will support the school’s vision by ensuring that daily operations are welcoming, organized, and efficient. This role serves as the central point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors, helping to create a safe, supportive, and faith-centered environment. Combining strong attention to detail with a commitment to service, this individual sustains the systems and structures that allow our school community to thrive.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative, receptionist, school office, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with students, parents, staff, and visitors.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student and family information in compliance with school policies and FERPA guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Workspace, and general office technology.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a welcoming and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Employment offer is contingent upon successful completion of a national background check.
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional early morning, evening, or weekend hours as needed for school events.
  • Physical demands include being required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and climb stairs. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pound

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a school setting or as a school registrar.
  • Experience using school information systems (e.g., FACTS, PowerSchool, RenWeb, or similar platforms).
  • Knowledge of student records management and enrollment processes.
  • Experience supporting admissions, attendance tracking, or substitute coordination.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Cristo Rey Orlando High School and comfort working within a Catholic, faith-based educational environment.
  • Experience coordinating events, field trips, or administrative logistics.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Google Suite

Responsibilities

  • Greet students, parents, staff, and visitors warmly and professionally, ensuring they feel welcomed and respected.
  • Oversee the school's main entrance to ensure all security protocols are followed, maintaining a safe and secure campus environment.
  • Ensure all visitors sign in and out and provide visitor badges.
  • Respond to phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries, directing questions or requests to the appropriate staff or department.
  • Coordinate appointments for students, parents, and staff with teachers, counselors, and administrators.
  • Accurately record and monitor student attendance, including managing late arrivals and early dismissals.
  • Assist with daily administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, record maintenance, and maintaining a clean and organized reception area.
  • Oversee the inventory and distribution of office supplies, forms, and materials, ensuring that essential supplies are always available.
  • Provide prospective students and parents with information about the school’s programs, admission processes, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential student records and perform data entry tasks for enrollment, course registration, and other school records.
  • Support the organization of school events such as parent-teacher conferences, open houses, assemblies, tours,and other school-related activities.
  • Coordinate substitute teacher assignments and classroom coverage for absent teachers, maintaining accurate records of absences and coverage.
  • Oversee the field trip application process and coordinate transportation for field trips and after-school activities.
  • Assist in emergency situations by following established protocols, notifying emergency services, and informing school personnel as required.
  • Work closely with school counselors, nurses, and other support staff to meet the diverse needs of students and parents.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies on confidentiality, safety, and student welfare.
  • Utilize school management software, scheduling systems, and other technology tools proficiently to complete job duties effectively.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the Principal.
