About The Position

This position requires you to operate the front desk, assist guests with registration and checkout, and handle requests for rooms received by phone, e-mail, or customers at the desk. You will be expected to provide information to guests concerning rates, availability of rooms, description of facilities and services, and information about area attractions and sight-seeing opportunities. The role requires complete working knowledge of the software system, including all daily transactions. You will communicate with the Housekeeping Department regarding guest rooms and requests, receive money from guests for payment of hotel charges, and make correct change. Responsibilities also include handling checks and credit cards received from guests for payment, knowing all room rates, and issuing safety deposit boxes when requested. You must provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules. The successful applicant will manage the operation of the registration desk efficiently, keep time required for check-in and check-out to a minimum, ensure final bills are provided to guests promptly, and direct guests to proper hotel staff members for food, housekeeping, laundry, and concierge services.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Strong computer skills with Excel and Word
  • At least one year of service with hotel, including some experience in operating or assisting at reservation desk
  • Familiarity with the local area and its attractions
  • Ability to obtain/maintain Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma gaming license
  • Above average oral communication skills
  • Excellent customer service
  • Problem solving capability
  • High capacity for learning
