About The Position

Front Desk Agent (Full-Time) Portland Regency Hotel & Spa | Portland, Maine Join one of Portland’s most iconic hospitality destinations. The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa , a beautiful Historic Hotel of America located in the heart of Portland’s vibrant Old Port District , is seeking a Full-Time Front Desk Agent to join our guest services team. If you enjoy providing exceptional customer service, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and love helping create memorable guest experiences, we would love to hear from you. As the first and last impression of our hotel, our Front Desk Agents play a vital role in welcoming guests, assisting with their needs, and ensuring every stay is exceptional. Schedule Hours vary weekly and include a combination of the following shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM Weekend and holiday availability is required. Position Summary The Front Desk Agent is responsible for assisting hotel guests in a professional, timely, and welcoming manner. This role requires strong customer service skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask while delivering exceptional hospitality. You’ll serve as both the guest’s primary contact for hotel services and a helpful resource for exploring Portland.

Requirements

  • Previous hotel, hospitality, customer service, or front desk experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer proficiency
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and guest-focused
  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Opera PMS experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests and visitors warmly
  • Check guests in and out efficiently
  • Answer hotel phones and direct calls appropriately
  • Assist with reservations, room blocks, and guest requests
  • Respond to guest concerns with professionalism and creative problem-solving
  • Manage cash drawer and follow all cash handling procedures
  • Post charges and maintain accurate folios
  • Monitor email inquiries and respond promptly
  • Provide information about hotel amenities, promotions, and the Portland area
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area
  • Assist in training new team members
  • Support overall guest satisfaction from arrival to departure
