We’re seeking a Freelance Principal Copywriter (CD-level+): a senior, hands-on creative partner with exceptional taste and mastery of craft. This is a senior level individual contributor role, ideal for someone who thrives in execution while bringing seasoned judgment, perspective, and creative leadership to the work. You’ll lead and create insight-driven ad copy across performance and brand touchpoints including Email, Paid Media (LinkedIn, Reddit, Search, Display), Website, OOH, Email, Events with occasional contribution to other digital, film execution and high-impact headlines within the product experience. While the mandate is performance-oriented, a strong brand lens is essential—ensuring work is not only effective, but ambitious, distinctive, and inspiring. Our ambition is award-level quality across every touchpoint. Whether it’s an integrated campaign, or a LinkedIn post, or an email header, you bring a level of craft and taste that sets the work apart. You’ll be embedded within the Marketing creative team and partner closely with Product, Business, and Executive Leadership. This role reports directly to the Senior Director, Creative, working as a trusted creative partner to build work and elevate craft and thinking across marketing creative. The ideal candidate is: A senior copywriter with CD-level judgment who prefers doing the work, not just managing it A trusted creative partner who can push thinking while staying highly open to feedback Deeply curious about what makes creative work effective, not just what’s trending Equally motivated by creative excellence and performance outcomes Fast, thoughtful, and detail-obsessed, with a strong bias for action Never satisfied with “good enough,” and instinctively raises the standard around them Fluent in both B2B and high-net-worth B2C audiences.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in brand writing or copywriting at top agencies, technology companies, or elite in-house creative teams
  • Proven ability to concept and execute high-performing copy across paid, social, product marketing, and owned channels
  • Strong conceptual thinker with experience writing for multiple brands and formats
  • Mastery of language, storytelling, voice, and craft, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Portfolio demonstrating world-class copywriting across campaigns and platforms; award-winning work strongly preferred
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, product, and design teams
  • Comfortable working autonomously and driving work from concept through final execution in fast-paced, iterative environments
  • Able to take feedback constructively and use it to elevate the work
  • Demonstrated bias for action, with the ability to move from a blank page to final execution quickly

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing breakthrough creative in regulated or compliance-conscious environments
  • Deep understanding of finance, particularly private markets
  • Portfolio that proves you can make traditionally “boring” channels (e.g., Display, Email) feel award-worthy
  • Proven success speaking to both institutional B2B audiences and sophisticated HNW individuals
  • Deep understanding of platform-specific best practices on LinkedIn and Reddit—and when and how to challenge the status quo

Responsibilities

  • Translate performance data, testing results, and insights into sharper creative ideas and directions
  • Navigate the complexity of finance and private markets while keeping the work high quality, compelling, and persuasive.
  • Balance speed, experimentation, and iteration with exceptional craft and attention to detail
  • Bring a strong brand sensibility to performance work, influencing voice and tone without redefining it
  • Present work clearly and confidently, articulating creative rationale to internal stakeholders
  • Partner cross-functionally with design, product and other business teams to ensure cohesive messaging across touchpoints
  • Raise the bar for creative quality, clarity, and effectiveness
