About The Position

FRCS Platform Security Engineer The Opportunity: A robust cybersecurity framework is essential for safeguarding critical systems and enabling government agencies to achieve their missions. But how can an organization ensure its security measures keep pace with evolving threats? Conducting comprehensive assessments and rigorous testing of security architecture to ensure resilience against evolving threats and compliance with industry standards demands a mix of technical expertise and strategic foresight. That's why we need you, an Operational Technology (OT) security engineer who knows how to craft and implement comprehensive security solutions for complex systems. As an Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS) Platform Security Engineer on our team, you’ll use your skills in conducting cybersecurity assessments, security design engineering, and threat monitoring to collaborate with the client team and other stakeholders to enhance FRCS cybersecurity capabilities, assist stakeholders in meeting risk reduction initiative measures, and ensure organizational preparedness against real-world threats by performing cyber hygiene assessments and red team exercises. Your understanding of FRCS system designs, protocols, and physical configurations will guide you as you implement countermeasures, detect threats, and maintain the overall cybersecurity posture of these systems. You’ll work with your client to ensure compliance and security of their FRCS to safeguard Marine Corps’ critical infrastructure, facilities, and systems. What You'll Work On:

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience performing hygiene assessments, cyber red team exercises, or implementing cybersecurity plans or IT or OT networks
  • Experience supporting high-visibility or mission-critical tasks and engaging directly with clients and stakeholders at various levels
  • Experience conducting cybersecurity assessments or performing threat exercises for platforms such as FRCS, ICS, or OT
  • Experience preparing detailed reports, including technical recommendations, gap analyses, and remediation status tracking
  • Experience with MS Office suite, including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with various levels of leadership within an organization, including presenting technical data or solutions to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to be a self-starter and perform duties and manage time independently, ensuring high-quality client-ready deliverables
  • Ability to travel to various Marine Corps Installations to conduct assessments and exercises up to 75% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on client site(s) or traveling to client-site(s) to perform assessments
  • Experience with DOE Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model (C2M2) or similar assessment frameworks
  • Experience supporting FRCS-related cybersecurity initiatives for government agencies, including Department of Navy or USMC
  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • CISSP, CISM, GICSP, CEH, or CISA Certification

Responsibilities

  • Conduct annual FRCS Cyber Hygiene inspections for Marine Corps Regions using the DOE Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model (C2M2).
  • Provide technical support for coordination and execution of Marine Corps Red Team (MCRT) FRCS Exercises.
  • Lead in-brief and out-brief sessions for Cyber Hygiene inspections and MCRT FRCS exercises tailored to audiences.
  • Document findings, results, and recommendations from the Cyber Hygiene inspections and Red Team Exercises in comprehensive report.
  • Ensure full lifecycle support for FRCS cybersecurity initiatives, including planning, coordination, execution, and post-assessment follow-up.
