About The Position

ExtraMile Convenience Stores LLC is a joint venture owned by Chevron and Jacksons Food Stores. The ExtraMile network is currently made up of more than 1,150 convenience stores in California, Pacific Northwest, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and the Southeast. The growth of the Company has resulted in opportunities to expand the ExtraMile brand within the current footprint, as well as to other states – resulting in exciting new employment opportunities. We are currently seeking a Franchise Business Consultant that will be home-based in Mobile, AL, Meridian, MS or Biloxi, MS, with possible responsibilities throughout the Southeast. This position requires the ability to communicate with all levels of the company, but most importantly with our Franchise Owners.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Retail and Franchise with an understanding of convenience store retailing, marketing strategies, Franchise brand guidelines and an ability to execute franchise programs successfully.
  • Strong business, financial, and analytical skills, along with an understanding of Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Power BI and CRM programs.
  • Embraces change with a positive attitude, adjusts quickly, and seeks solutions proactively. Willing to learn and tackle unfamiliar tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Develop beneficial business relationships with all franchisees in your assigned area, fostering trust and open communication.
  • Profitability & Sales Support: Provide guidance to franchisees on profitability and assist in establishing sales goals to drive growth.
  • Merchandising Execution: Support and direct merchandising execution and compliance, including coordination of store special events such as grand openings, customer appreciation events, and site promotions.
  • Store Openings Coordination: Collaborate with senior leadership, merchandising, operations, construction, price book, and training teams to ensure seamless store openings. Monitor progress and performance to support successful launches.
  • Local Ordinance Knowledge: Gain understanding of local ordinances related to permitting, inspections, and compliance requirements.
  • Retail Technology Expertise: Acquire familiarity and expertise with retail technologies specific to the ExtraMile program, including Power BI, Point of Sale, and Back Office Systems.
  • Vendor Relationships: Build strong relationships with vendor partners to ensure support and expectations are met at site level.
  • Business Planning Sessions: Schedule and conduct meetings with franchisees and managers for business planning and performance review.
  • Production & Compliance Support: Provide support to franchisees to increase production, profitability, and ensure compliance with image evaluations and customer service standards for proper brand representation.
  • Performance Evaluation: Quickly identify performance successes or issues and communicate effectively with franchisees to resolve concerns.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support overall business objectives
