Summary: The Financial Manager FP&A will be responsible for providing both day-to-day insights and big picture analysis to help optimize performance at BrandsMart. This position will need to attain a deep understanding of the retail industry. This position will have high visibility and exposure within the business and collaborate with subject matter experts both within Finance/Accounting and across the company. The candidate will be required to leverage financial and business knowledge to influence senior leadership and help formulate recommendations related to the company's corporate strategy or operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or another quantitative/analytical field
  • 7 years of experience in a finance or analytical role – preferably within FP&A, management consulting, or similar environment with increasing levels of responsibility
  • 3 years of experience analyzing income statements, balance sheets and cash flows
  • SQL, PowerBI, and highly proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Experience creating complex spreadsheets and financial models in Microsoft excel
  • Experience creating, editing and presenting executive-level presentations in PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High level of discretion when dealing with sensitive information
  • Critical thinking – Understanding of the issues related to the decision-making process; ability to analyze situations fully and accurately, and reach productive decisions
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL skills

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or CPA license is a plus but not required
  • Lawson knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and building of the annual business plan, quarterly forecasts, financial analysis, as well as other monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reporting for BrandsMart
  • Including the 3-5 year financial model
  • Prepares monthly financial package for senior management, including commenting on variances to plan, reforecast and prior year
  • Analyze large sets of data for incorporation into the plan
  • Track and analyze forecasts vs. budget; identifying key risks and opportunities; ensure all risks and opportunities are appropriately reflected in the forecast and forward projections
  • Analyze financial information and reports to provide clear, accurate and timely financial decision support to management
  • Creates reports and metrics for daily, weekly, and monthly financial and operational tracking
  • Assists the Aaron’s Corporate Finance team with forecasting the 13-week cash flow for BrandsMart
