About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic FP&A Analyst to join our growing Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to support key business decisions and financial performance in a government contracting environment. As part of a mid-sized government contractor, the FP&A Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial goals, operations, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, ideally in government contracting or a similar industry (defense, aerospace, or other regulated industries).
  • Strong knowledge of government contracting regulations, including FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirements.
  • Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting in a government contracting context.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with senior leadership and non-financial personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and coordination of the company’s annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Assist in preparing long-term financial projections, including revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures.
  • Collaborate with project managers, department heads, and senior leadership to ensure budgets reflect realistic operational requirements and strategic objectives.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, highlighting key variances and trends
  • Analyze the financial performance of government contracts, identifying cost drivers, profitability, and compliance with contract terms.
  • Assist in the preparation of Board-level financial reports, providing actionable insights on performance, forecasting, and cash flow.
  • Conduct variance analysis of indirect and direct costs related to contracts, and recommend corrective actions if necessary.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to evaluate cost-saving opportunities, pricing strategies, and cash flow management.
