About The Position

The FP&A Analyst is a technically skilled, curious, and forward-thinking professional who supports our financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and decision-making processes at the firm. This individual supports the firm's adoption of AI in the legal industry and is passionate about AI innovation, particularly in the development and deployment of intelligent agents to enhance finance-related business processes. This entry-level individual should be eager to grow and develop into a Citizen Data Scientist, a nonexpert in data science who uses tools, analytics, and machine learning models to analyze data and drive insights. This role bridges the gap between business professionals and data experts, enabling data-driven strategies without deep technical expertise. The FP&A analyst has strong analytical skills, profit-centric business acumen, excellent communication abilities and a deep understanding of financial metrics. Emphasis for this role is on providing practice group specific informative analytics and reporting packages in order to inform decision making, safeguard profitability, and support the long-term growth goals of the firm.

Requirements

  • High energy, eagerness to learn, and a passion for being at the forefront of AI innovation and advancements in FP&A.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Data Science, Computer Science, or similar field.
  • Experience in data analytics, preferably with exposure to AI/machine learning projects and revenue/expense management.
  • Open to recent graduates with relevant coursework and/or internship experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a law firm or professional services organization a plus.
  • Proficiency and/or familiarity in Python, SQL, Power BI, Copilot studio or similar tools a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support practice group reporting requirements, providing informative analytics and insights to practice group leadership with a profit-centric approach.
  • Monitor and analyze revenue-generating activities, ensuring alignment with budgets/forecasts and identifying variances.
  • Collaborate directly with expense and data analytics teams to perform profit-centric analysis in support of the firm’s long-term financial goals and initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial packages for leadership, highlighting key trends, variances and performance drivers with actionable insights.
  • Provide scenario analysis to evaluate the financial impact of business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
  • Assist in the development of simple-language AI agents (e.g., chatbots, scenario simulators, summarization tools) to support finance workflows and automation efforts.
  • Contribute to the FP&A team’s AI knowledge base by sharing learnings and testing new tools.
  • Analyze structured and unstructured data to extract insights and support predictive modeling efforts while evolving into a Citizen Data Scientist.
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests as needed.
