About The Position

Our client, a fast-growing healthcare startup, is hiring a Founding Recruiter to build their talent function from zero to elite. This is a hands-on, strategic role where you’ll work directly with leadership to hire top-tier engineers, critical non-technical talent, and ensure high-volume operational hiring runs like a well-oiled machine. This is not a plug-and-play recruiting job. You’re here to design the hiring engine, shape the employer brand, and help define the culture of a future category leader. Requirements

  • 3–8 years of recruiting experience, including 2+ years in an early-stage, talent-dense startup (pre–Series A/B)
  • Strong track record hiring and closing Senior/Staff-level engineers
  • True full-cycle recruiter with recent in-house startup experience (agency background welcome if you’ve crossed over)
  • Sharp at structured interviews, data-driven recruiting, and partnering with senior leadership
  • Mission-driven, low ego, high ownership, and collaborative by default
  • Experience contributing to employer branding, founder storytelling, and referral-driven hiring

Nice To Haves

  • Experience hiring GTM, Ops, or G&A roles is a strong plus
  • Prior experience mentoring or managing recruiters/sourcers is a bonus
  • Bonus points if you’ve helped scale a company from early-stage to public

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting across engineering and strategic business roles
  • Proactively source and close top 1% talent using creative, non-cookie-cutter approaches
  • Manage and support the ops recruiter handling frontline and delivery hiring
  • Ensure quality, alignment, and consistency across all hiring streams
  • Partner with founders and leadership to amplify the mission, vision, and value prop
  • Drive top-of-funnel awareness through referrals, storytelling, and inbound strategy
  • Implement and optimize the recruiting tech stack (Ashby)
  • Build structured interview loops, calibration processes, and reporting dashboards
  • Define what “great” looks like for interviewing at the company
  • Deliver an experience that turns candidates into fans—even when they don’t get the offer
