About The Position

Auburn Advancement is excited to begin the search for a Foundation Financial Services Manager! The Manager of Foundation Financial Services supports the oversight and monitoring of donor-funded accounts, ensuring that funds are spent in alignment with donor intent. This role collaborates with Advancement Finance, Donor Relations, Philanthropy, and campus partners, including unit administrators and the Endowment Investment Office to help maximize fund use and maintain donor fund compliance and transparency. What You'll Do: Ensure Stewardship and Compliance: Monitors donor-funded accounts to confirm spending aligns with donor intent, university policy, and compliance standards, fostering transparency and accountability in fund management. Empower Collaboration: Partners with unit administrators, Advancement Finance, and campus leaders to review available funds, develop spending plans, and provide guidance that optimizes fund utilization while honoring donor intent. Advance Insight and Efficiency: Implements and enhances the expendable fund model through tracking, analysis, and automation to improve visibility, streamline processes, and strengthen financial oversight. Drive Strategic Improvement: Analyzes spending trends, identifies opportunities for greater impact, and contributes to process enhancements, special projects, and resource development that elevate Advancement Finance operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting services, and/or financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • The Manager of Foundation Financial Services ensures that donor funds are monitored, reviewed, and utilized in accordance with donor intent and university policy. This role upholds financial integrity by maintaining compliance standards, improving processes, and promoting transparency across all donor-funded accounts.
  • Partners with Advancement Finance, Donor Relations, Philanthropy, and campus units to review accounts, develop spending plans, and support compliance. Serves as a trusted resource for administrators and staff, providing guidance on fund usage, reporting, and documentation.
  • Implements and refines processes related to the expendable fund model, integrating technology and data analysis to enhance oversight. Develops resources and tools that simplify fund monitoring and strengthen understanding of donor-funded financial operations.
  • Leads ongoing account reviews and financial analyses to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Tracks spending activity, identifies potential compliance risks, and communicates findings and recommendations to Advancement leadership. Supports audits, fund reviews, and strategic planning to ensure that donor generosity continues to make the greatest impact.
