About The Position

In response to the significant challenges faced by youth in Arizona’s foster care system, Grand Canyon University (GCU) has taken meaningful action to support these vulnerable students. Recognizing that many young adults aging out of foster care are forced to prioritize basic survival needs over long-term goals, GCU has partnered with the Arizona Department of Child Safety to create a comprehensive college program designed specifically for foster youth. Through this partnership, GCU is not only removing financial barriers to higher education but also empowering students to shift their focus from survival to success—helping them build a future filled with opportunity, stability, and purpose. To ensure students in foster care thrive academically and personally, Grand Canyon University provides dedicated administrative support, including peer support such as the Fostering Futures Student Administrator, to help them successfully navigate both the scholarship program and the broader college experience.
