Forklift/Truck Driver (53599)
About The Position
Serve as a teacher, mentor, and positive role model for the individuals supported by the organization by demonstrating safe work practices, professionalism, patience, and respect, and by actively supporting skill development, independence, and self-confidence in meaningful, self-directed lives. While fulfilling this instructional and mentoring role, the employee will operate company vehicles, including box trucks and forklifts, in a safe and responsible manner. The employee will maintain and inspect vehicles, report mechanical or safety concerns, transport customer materials, cargo, and finished goods, and comply with all vehicle safety and passenger regulations.
Requirements
- License and insurance to operate a vehicle in KY
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability and patience to teach and train adults with IDD in a vocational setting
- Participate in inventory control
- Trusted with vehicle maintenance and maintaining a good relationship with contract partners
- High School Diploma or GED
- Physical ability to lift, stack, and move goods, as well as step up into truck bed
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and dependability to complete assigned tasks

Responsibilities
- Serve as a teacher, mentor, and positive role model for the individuals supported by the organization.
- Operate and coordinate material movement by safely driving company vehicles, forklifts, and other equipment.
- Maintain safety and compliance by following regulations and conducting regular inspections.
- Load and unload delivery trucks.
- Handle shipping and receiving documentation and adhere to production schedules.
