About The Position

We are seeking a Forklift Driver to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations.

About the Role:

The Forklift Driver plays a critical role in the efficient operation of warehouse and distribution centers by safely operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials and products. This position ensures that goods are handled with care and transported to designated locations in a timely manner, supporting overall supply chain and inventory management processes. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and company policies to maintain a secure working environment for all employees. The Forklift Driver collaborates closely with warehouse staff and supervisors to coordinate daily tasks and optimize workflow. Ultimately, this position contributes to the seamless movement of inventory, enabling the organization to meet customer demands and operational goals effectively.

Requirements

• Valid forklift operator certification or license as required by OSHA regulations.
• Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and operational instructions.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with different types of forklifts, including sit-down and stand-up models.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
• Basic mechanical skills to perform minor forklift maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse or distribution center.
• Inspect forklifts daily to ensure they are in safe working condition and report any maintenance needs promptly.
• Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries while operating equipment.
• Organize and stack materials in designated storage areas to maximize space and maintain order.
• Assist with inventory counts and documentation to ensure accurate tracking of goods.
• Collaborate with warehouse team members to coordinate the timely movement of products.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to promote a safe and efficient environment.
