About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is seeking a Forklift Driver/Material Handler for the 1st Shift in Reno, NV. The core hours for this position are 6 am - 2:30 pm. The role involves operating a forklift to move materials, loading/unloading trailers, picking stock, organizing storage areas, and performing daily forklift inspections. The individual will also be responsible for recycling duties and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position supports facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives, including 5-S, visual management tools, and participation in Kaizen events. The hourly rate for this position is $22.73 per hour, with salaries based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market/business considerations. Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
• Must possess a valid and current driver’s license.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format.

• Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance. Occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with assistance with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to move raw materials, components, supplies & finished goods.
• Load and unload trailers as required.
• Pick and pull stock for delivery.
• Organize pallet area in the backyard on regular basis (assist during backyard attendant absence).
• Organize material storage locations in backyard and inside the building on a regular basis.
• Complete daily forklift inspection.
• Primary owner for recycling duties for assigned area (i.e., emptying cardboard bins to the cardboard baler daily, operating cardboard baler, etc.).
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.
• Keeps work areas clean and safe.
• Supports all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to:
• Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas.
• Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
• Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.
• Other various duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
