Requirements

  • Proven experience operating forging machinery including presses, CNC laser cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, plasma cutters, EDM machines, welding equipment, or similar manufacturing tools.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings with GD&T specifications.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming languages and software is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with quality inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and tooling setup for various machining operations.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and cranes safely within a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments in machining processes.
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing or metalworking environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forging presses, CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and other fabrication equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate production.
  • Set up and calibrate machinery using tooling, hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments for precise forging operations.
  • Perform CNC programming tasks to optimize machine performance and ensure consistent quality output.
  • Conduct quality inspections on forged parts using micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety standards; operate cranes and forklifts as needed for material handling.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues with equipment such as press brakes, plasma cutters, electrical discharge machines (EDM), and welding stations to minimize downtime.
  • Assist in assembly processes by fabricating sheet metal components and ensuring proper tooling setup for efficient production flow.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements and ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards.
