About The Position

At COMHAR, it is our mission to provide health and human services that empower individuals, families, and communities to live healthier, self-determined lives. We are currently seeking a full time Forensic Case Manager at our new Outpatient Restoration Long Term Structured Residence (ORLTSR), located in Easton, PA. The ORLTSR is a therapeutic residential program that works with justice-involved adults. The individuals in the program have a diagnosis of serious mental illness and have been prosecuted on criminal charges. The program will provide mental health treatment to those who will be admitted on Conditional Release or those in need of competency restoration. The Forensic Case Manager works from a recovery framework within the team providing providing care management services, therapeutic interventions, cultural competence and trauma informed care to help individuals obtain their recovery goals. The Forensic Case Manager will coordinate all services and follow up related to Northampton County competency hearings and mental health court hearings and communications; view individuals form a strengths approach in preparation for their court hearings. This position is responsible for acquisition and coordination of all services required by residents in order to attain treatment goals. Additional responsibilities of the Forensic Case Manager includes, but is not limited to; supervision of resident fund management, engagement in resident advocacy with internal and external programs and agencies, and collaboration with the Director and Assistant Director in relation to all admission screenings and negotiations regarding referrals, transfers and discharges. Ensure that all required documentation is completed efficiently and thoroughly maintaining compliance with all internal and external requirements and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mental health, social work, or related field
  • One year mental health and forensic experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Works well in a collaborative environment; having the ability to use creativity with problem solving and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of the behavioral health system
  • Strong computer skills are required
