The Footwear Developer II at Altra is responsible for driving the development, engineering, fit, margin adherence, and specifications for new and existing Footwear from Final Design Review to Commercialization, with a focus on Project-based management. This role involves leading footwear product development from seasonal kickoff to confirmation for production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create best-in-class performance footwear. Key aspects include focusing on footwear best practices/standards, fit and comfort, providing technical solutions, building product at cost, and ensuring product quality. The developer will manage products from kickoff to production, ensuring adherence to the product creation calendar milestones, and proactively follow up. They will initiate and lead meetings with product teams to review, evaluate, update, and drive decision-making to achieve on-time Buy Ready status and margin goals. Responsibilities also include confirming final development samples, managing sample retention, working with VF Asia teams to identify manufacturing efficiencies and reduce product cost, and evaluating tooling. Collaboration with the Materials Developer and design team on technical packages and fit execution is crucial, as is addressing quality issues and attending collaborative meetings.
